Infrastructure Engineer - Information Technology (IT) department
Open for applications
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll help design, maintain, and improve the systems that keep Flüüfff running, from our cloud services to on-site networking and server infrastructure.
You’ll monitor uptime and performance, especially during high-traffic moments like registration and convention days, and respond quickly when issues arise.
You’ll work closely with the rest of the IT team using an Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and documentation-first approach, ensuring our systems stay reliable, reproducible, and well-maintained for future events.
You’ll be part of the IT team responsible for keeping Flüüfff’s digital and on-site systems reliable and secure.
You should be familiar with Linux server administration and comfortable working with container technologies such as Docker — or eager to learn.
Experience with IaC tools (e.g. Terraform, OpenTofu), networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS), and monitoring or logging systems (e.g. Prometheus, ELK, Loki) will come in handy.
Scripting experience in Bash or Python is a plus, as is knowledge of SRE principles and CI/CD workflows.
Above all, you’ll contribute to a well-documented, infrastructure-as-code environment where clarity and reliability come first.
You might be a good fit if…
You enjoy keeping systems stable, secure, and efficient — the invisible backbone that keeps everything running.
You like solving practical problems and understanding how different tools and services fit together.
You’re reliable and proactive, unafraid to dive into technical details to make sure things “just work.”
You communicate clearly with both tech and non-tech teammates and enjoy helping others understand the systems you maintain.
You take pride in organization, documentation, and clean setups, but you stay flexible when things don’t go as planned.
You’re fluent in English (bonus if you also speak French, Dutch, or German).
You’ll be working with
You’ll collaborate closely with the IT team, particularly the Full-Stack Developers and System Administrators, to maintain and improve our technical infrastructure.
Since IT systems connect to nearly every part of the convention, you’ll occasionally coordinate with other departments such as Registration, HR, or PR to ensure their tools run smoothly.
During the convention itself, you may also provide on-site support to keep networks and servers stable.
Time commitment
The workload varies throughout the year.
Expect to spend a few hours per week, increasing slightly in the months leading up to the convention and during key technical milestones like registration launches.
Scheduling is flexible — most work is asynchronous, with only occasional online meetings or check-ins to coordinate with the team.
