Full-Stack Web Developer - Information Technology (IT) department
Open for applications
As a Full-Stack Web Developer, you’ll help maintain and improve Flüüfff’s convention website and its supporting systems. You’ll collaborate with design-minded teammates to ensure the site is approachable, accessible, and visually aligned with the convention’s theme. In the months leading up to the event, you’ll work on updates, new features, and quality improvements, and during the convention, you’ll help resolve any technical issues or bugs that may arise. You’ll also coordinate with other teams and staff members to make sure everything runs smoothly from both the user and system perspectives.
You’ll help design, build, and maintain Flüüfff’s web systems together with the IT team.
You should have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and be comfortable collaborating through Git and shared code workflows.
Knowledge of additional tools or languages — such as Tailwind CSS, modern frameworks like Svelte or Astro, or typed languages like TypeScript — is a plus but not required.
An understanding of responsive design, internationalization (i18n), and web accessibility principles is appreciated, as is experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions or GitLab CI).
Familiarity with design tools such as Figma can help when collaborating with the creative team, but a willingness to learn is just as valuable.
You’ll work alongside a few other techy creatures who care about structure, naming things properly (or ironically), and helping the rest of the team not break things by accident.
You might be a good fit if
You enjoy building things that people actually use.
You’re curious about new technologies and like experimenting.
You value clean, reliable code more than flashy hacks.
You communicate clearly and enjoy working with others.
You’re fluent in English (bonus points if you also speak French, Dutch, or German).
You like the idea of helping a convention run smoothly behind the scenes.
You’ll be working with
You’ll be part of the IT team, collaborating with both technical and creative members to develop and maintain the website, internal tools, and registration systems.
Because these systems connect to many areas of the convention, you’ll occasionally coordinate with other departments - such as Registration, HR, or PR - to ensure everything works seamlessly for staff and attendees alike.
Time commitment
The workload varies throughout the year. On average, expect to spend a few hours per week, with more focused activity in the months leading up to the convention.
Scheduling is flexible, most work can be done asynchronously, with only occasional meetings or check-ins to stay aligned with the rest of the IT team.
