Flüüfff runs on two websites: the convention website that’s the public face of everything we do, and the registration website where attendees sign up and manage their details. Both need to look great, but more than that, they need to actually work well for the people using them.
As our UX/UI Designer, you’ll be responsible for the design of both. That means thinking about user flows and how information is structured, just as much as the visual side. You’ll be the one asking “Why and how?” before opening a design tool, and making sure every update, whether it’s a new feature, a content change, or feedback from a previous edition, leaves the experience better than you found it.
You’ll be part of the IT team, but your work touches every corner of the organisation. The websites bring together information from across all departments, so you’ll regularly be gathering input from different people, translating that into clear and considered design, and communicating your choices to the web developers. That side of the role matters just as much as the craft itself.
Familiarity with UX principles and interface design tools like Figma is a must. A willingness and curiosity to work with Github and a knowledge of front-end development are a plus.
The IT team is your home base, but you’ll be in regular contact with staff from across the convention, such as Registration, Dealers’ Den, Theming and Entertainment. The websites are a reflection of the whole event, so keeping those lines open is a big part of the job.
The workload picks up between the close of one edition and the opening of registration for the next, that’s when the biggest changes tend to happen. After that it quiets down, but staying available for smaller updates and requests from other departments throughout the year is part of the deal.
Whether you’ve got years of experience or just big creative energy, we’d love to hear from you. Hit the button, fill out the form, and come help us make the magic happen.
We try to respond within a couple weeks — if we're slow, it's not you, it's us (we’re probably rebooting something).
We have more openings across the convention departments.
