Theming Team Member - Theming Department department

As a Theming Team Member, you help shape the look and atmosphere of the convention. Together with the theming team, you brainstorm ideas, develop visual concepts, and help bring the theme to life through decorations and creative elements across the conspace.
This role combines creative thinking and hands-on making, both before and during the convention.
Your responsibilities include:
Brainstorming and developing ideas for decorating the conspace
Helping define the visual style and creative direction of the theme
Creating and building decorations using a variety of techniques
Assisting with setup and teardown of theming elements
You are a creative contributor within the Theming department, working closely with the Department Head and fellow team members. You help translate the theme into tangible visuals and decorations and support the team wherever needed.
In this role, you:
Bring creative ideas and visual input to the team
Contribute through at least one creative skill, such as design, arts and crafts, or hands-on making
May work with techniques like drawing, sewing, 3D printing, painting, cardboard construction, or similar methods
Help turn concepts and sketches into physical or visual decorations
You might be a good fit if
You are fluent in English. It is a plus if you are also fluent in French, Dutch, or German.
You enjoy building up and tearing down a beautifully themed conspace
You can visualise ideas and express them through sketches, notes, or examples
You like collaborating creatively with others and sharing ideas
You enjoy hands-on creative work
Who you’ll be working with
The Theming department
Stage, for decorating the main stage and photo areas
Bar, for themed bar decoration
IT, for visual input related to the website
PR and Registration, when artwork or visual assets are needed
Time commitment
Most of the work for this role happens before the convention.
In the months leading up to the convention, there will be a few meetings to brainstorm ideas, plan decorations, and track progress
During the convention, work mainly takes place during early arrival (setup) and at the end of the event (teardown)
Exact timing will be coordinated within the Theming team.
